Earlier this month, Sony vice president of publisher and developer relations announced he was returning to the development world. Today, his new position has been announced.
Boyes has been named the new CEO of Iron Galaxy. The studio, which has worked on Videoball, Wreckateer, and Divekick most recently handled seasons two and three of Microsoft exclusive Killer Instinct.
Prior to his time at Sony, Boyes worked with Midway Games, Capcom, Starbreeze, EA, and more. He’ll begin on August 8
Additionally, Iron Galaxy has promoted studio veteran Chelsea Blasko to chief product officer. Company founder Dave Lang will continue handling business development and strategic vision for the studio.
Our Take
Iron Galaxy has done solid work with the more recent additions to Killer Instinct. The studio has had its stumbles, including the troubled Batman: Arkham Knight PC port. But Boyes’ experience and a strong leadership team could well propel the studio forward.
