Activision Blizzard Boasts Over 15 Millions Players In Overwatch Across The Globe

Activision posted its 2016 second quarter financial results today, and had some impressive numbers to share for Overwatch.

the game has more than 15 million players across the world with that number accounting for boxed and digital sales of the game, internet game room players, and multi-user console households. The game also broke a record in China, previously held by Diablo III, as the fastest-selling PC game in the market’s history. Overwatch also holds the number one position in Korean Internet Game Rooms with over 30% share of play time. Activision also shared that players have already spent 500 million hours playing the game. It didn't offer any concrete details, but Blizzard also reiterated its ongoing promise for additional content updates ahead.

Our Take
I think we were all fairly certain Overwatch was a success for Blizzard, but this is above expectations. That's a whole lot of people playing Overwatch.
