After more than week of conflicting information, we now know for sure. No Man’s Sky is coming three days later on PC than on PS4.
There had been some suspicion due to a change in timing on Hello Games’ website, and even know Steam still has the game listed as coming on August 9. However, Hello Games founder Sean Murray has finally made it official.
I really want to clarify our PC release date. It's something we're working extremely hard on

There are reasons we have to be tight lipped at times. I'm sorry for the confusion caused :(

We think a global release is best for everyone on PC. Retail forces us to be staggered on PS4

As we reported earlier, review code hasn’t made it to media yet, though many have secured copies. The servers are getting wiped on Sunday, at least for PlayStation 4, prior to a pre-launch patch rolling out on Monday.
No Man’s Sky is coming to PlayStation 4 on Tuesday, August 9, and PC on Friday, August 12.

Our Take
The big pre-launch patch might have something to do with this. The ability to stagger allows Hello Games to prioritize PS4 and gives the studio just a little breathing room to touch up the PC release. For those of us planning on Steam or GOG, those extra three days do sting a bit.
