Resident Evil director Paul W.S. Anderson and his producing partner Jeremy Bolt are making a film franchise based on Monster Hunter. News outlet Deadline interviewed the two about it, along with what lessons they hope to carry over from the nearly $1 billion Resident Evil film franchise.
The extensive interview covers the two filmmakers' journey though creating the successful Resident Evil series as well as their motivations for the various decisions made during that time. The two filmmakers secured the rights themselves and have a script, so now they're trying to find a studio to help create it.

Our Take
While the first Resident Evil movie was decent, they soon became their own mutated version of the series, and not in a cute live-action Super Mario Bros. kind of way. The interview contains a brief synopsis of the script, which already has me cringing. I'm frightened to see how awful Anderson would make a Monster Hunter movie and how many more times he'll make us watch Milla Jovovich wake up naked with no memory.
