Killer Instinct, Iron Galaxy's Xbox One and Windows 10 fighting game, is out on Steam today.
The fighter first launched in 2013 under Double Helix on the Xbox One, but was shifted to Iron Galaxy for seasons two and beyond once Double Helix joined Amazon Games Studio. Under Iron Galaxy's development, characters like a giant stone guardian, a Japanese ghost, and Rash from Battletoads have been added. A PC version launched in 2016 alongside season 3, but exclusively for the Windows 10 App store, which disappointed a lot of potential buyers, leading Microsoft to announce that the game would come to Steam sometime in 2017.
While the game is free to play on Xbox One with additional purchases for seasons and costumes, the Steam version launches with seasons 1-3 included. The Steam version has cross-play with both Xbox One and Windows 10 versions, as well.
