In the continued aftermath of the Jacksonville mass shooting, EA has announced it is donating $1 million to the victims’ families, and will be holding a livestream tribute later next week.
EA made the announcement in a larger statement posted on Twitter, promising more details soon for community members who would also like to donate to the victims.

The mass shooting took place at a Madden Classic qualifying tournament on Sunday, and was perpetrated by one of the participants. Eleven people were shot, including contestants Taylor Robertson and Elijah Clayton, who died from their wounds.
EA CEO Andrew Wilson released a statement on Tuesday, expressing condolences to the families and announcing that the final three qualifying tournaments would be canceled while the company reassesses its safety protocols for public events.
EA’s Jacksonville tribute livestream will take place next Thursday, September 6.
