
Mario's entry into the world of mobile gaming will be a available in the beginning of December and will be free to download, but will have a one time fee in order to upgrade it to the full version.
Super Mario Run will be available on December 15 and will cost $9.99 in order to unlock the full game. Before unlocking the full game, players will be able to, "try elements of the game’s three modes for free." It will be compatible on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices running iOS 8.0 or later and will launch in 151 countries and regions next month. For more on Super Mario Run, head here.
Our Take
I am still surprised a Mario game is coming to a non-Nintendo platform, but I think it's the right call and I am excited to play it. I also like that it's not free-to-play in the traditional sense. I am so tired of not being able to really buy mobile games. I don't like being nickel and dimed.
